I can’t believe I almost have a 1st grader. Only 4 months left of kindergarten, it has flown by.
Next year won’t be much different considering he already goes full day and rides the bus. I just can’t believe it makes me want to cry, he is growing up too quickly ;(
Which brings me to having baby fever; occasionally I want another then I change my mind when I think about diapers, no sleep, and tantrums! I just don’t want to start over. Maybe someday we’ll do foster care for children and can get my baby fix :)
The only resolution I am making is
I want to try harder in life, make the most of it. Try harder to not sit on the couch and do nothing.
Try harder on my blog for myself. You’ve probably noticed the lack of blogging on my part. I was just starting to get over whelmed with all the sponsored posts that I was avoiding blogging for myself even though I would always be thinking of stuff I wanted to write about. This year I’m going to be more selective with which brands I work with.
And I’m going to try harder with my relationships with friends and family. Life is too short, tell your family and friends that you love them more, that your thinking about them, that you care. There’s so many times where I think about texting/calling/visiting someone and then get side track and forget about it. Well, that might be the last time. I sent my friend our Christmas card, and it got returned back (because I didn’t put their last name) 2 days before she passed away, the day it came back to me I was going to text her and tell her but I got side track. I know that’s such a little thing but I’m pretty sure it will always stick with me and I feel bad for not telling her “Merry Christmas”!
I could be here all day telling you all the things I’m going to try harder on, but I don’t want to bore you. I’m a procrastinator and it needs to end!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
MAY THIS YEAR BE AMAZING FOR EVERYONE!
Random acts of kindness. Selfless acts.
With Christmas only two days away I thought I would write about something uplifting and cheerful :)
There are three children out there that have a place to call home. Okay that sounds a little cheesy. But seriously, last year my cousin and her husband took in 3 of her sisters kids. The kids now have a steady place to call home, get to attend the same school every day, are enrolled in a ton of activities(in school and out), have birthday parties, have role models to look up to, a clean and safe environment. People who put others before them selves are amazing, my cousin and her husband didn’t have to take in the kids or treat them the same as their own children.
Talk about heroes!
I know there are a ton of people who are foster parents, and adoptive parents. This is for you, thank you. Thank you for giving children a chance to have a good life, to experience the good in the world and not the negative!
The other night Mason and I were driving home looking at Christmas lights and saw Santa on a fire truck so we decided to follow him and he gave Mason a candy cane. He was so excited!
Made my favorite cookies :)
This weekend we went up to Bellingham for my sister in laws annual ugly sweater party. I made these ugly sweaters, pretty ugly huh?! I didn’t intend to make our sweaters but when I went to Value Village all I could find in the whole store was 3 vests and they wanted $40 each. No way was I paying that so I bought a red and green sweater and a bag of the misc garland and plastic ornaments and stuck them on the sweaters. Easy and cheap! There was the white elephant game and guess what we ended up winning lol; hubby won a box of furry handcuffs santa hat whip and I won a mens crouch less underwear lol!
On Sunday we raced home to get ready for my annual cookie exchange with my family. We got home rushed to clean the house, make cookies and get my self ready. And then my grandma showed up 2 hours early lol.
Last night 8 of us piled into a suburban and drove around fantasy lights. I love Christmas time!!
As you can see I haven’t been around the blogland lately & I suck at the daily blogging. But I’m totally okay with that; we have been crazy busy with the headcold, getting everything all ready for the holidays. We finally rearranged the living room & office and currently have no internet on the computer (so this post will have to be done on my phone)… Mostly spending as much time with my family as I can, the internet addiction was getting a little out of hand.
So, here’s to setting my priority’s straight! Check my email, clean the bathroom, dishes and then bus stop for the kid :)
Mason: “shows aren’t important, laying with your kid is” … something I always try to remember!
